Over recent weeks, a few Dutch artists, united under their bandname Poets Don’t Dance, have composed three of their ultimately ten clips for their brandnew album WHERE KIND IS KING (2022).
First in line, is the clip Putin, Vor! (Putin, Thief!) – Elegy for Vlad the Poisoner. An intense protest song against Putin’s corrupt regime and in support of Aleksej Navalny. Derk Sauer of The Moscow Times, personally delivered the clip to Team Navalny in Russia. The music accompanying the lyrics, is composed by Rafaël Krux, who also made the soundtrack for the over 140-million times viewed documentary about The Palace of Putin at the Black Sea.
Next came the clip Frau Merkel, mehr Licht! Abschiedslied fuer Angela Merkel. A farewell present for Merkel Miracle, who made Germany and the whole of the EU a lot more peaceful and together than would have been the case without her. The German Ambassy in The Hague, delivered the clip to Frau Merkel the royal way.
Third in row, there is the clip No More Chains! A song of sadness, live recorded in Yerevan on Genocide Day, during a recorded earthquake. The song is a lamento for peace and freedom, amidst a region haunted by genocide and war. Such as in the region Nagorno-Karabach. The clip is a musical and lyrical reflection on La condition humaine, as well as the original sin of genocide.
The three above clips, are only the beginning of a project that will encompass ten unique songs that dare to combine lyricism, music, imagery as well as recent events occurring in the midst of our globe. The title of the entire project – as well as the album – is: Where Kind is King.
Poets Don’t Dance consists of poet and historian Serge van Duijnhoven, mixmaster dj DNA of the Urban Dance Squad, director and painter Ate von Video, frequencycowboy Fred dB and and Edwin Berg both on piano and melodica.

LYRICS
Putin Vor, Putin Vor
You, Vlad you poisoner!
Set us free Aleksej Navalny
No More FSB
No More Autocracy!
Putin Vor, Putin Vor
Vlad the Poisoner!
Set us free, Navalny
Give Mother Rassija
Finally real Democracy!
Putin Vor, Putin Vor
Vlad the Poisoner!
Stop the Bullshit
In the name of stability
And give Rassija
Our human rights
Back in all honesty
Putin Vor, Putin Vor
Vlad the Poisoner!
No more krisha
No more maffia
No more otkat
No more FSB
And most of all:
No more oligarchy!
Putin Vor, Putin Vor
Vlad the Poisoner!
Set us free! Set us free!
Free your brave prisoner
Aleksej Navalny…

To mister president Putin the Poisoner, It is true that even evil has the right and – may we say – holy obligation to exist. Rhythmus, dance and fight on the dancefloor with its cosmic counterparts, form the basic of all vibration in the universe. But it are the brighter forces that determine how far we desire to be overshadowed, dominated and eventually exterminated, by the Schuetzstaffel of you and your oligarch kind. As well as by the poor slavic peoples of Russija who you continue to let live as slaves in the unfortunate meaning of their current destiny. All tyrants shall fall. All life will perish, but first of all thrive in nature’s light and delight. Truth matters, as much as honesty. Community, as much as individual freedom. Individual freedom, lies at the base of all collective well being. All lies will ultimately shine through on the balance of our individual souls. It is time to crawl back, mister president Putin the Poisoner, into the black hole you came from and where you belong. No more krisha, no more iron boxes we are captured and improsined in for so long already. Let a ring of light shine over all the skies of Russia, after your demise. The sky is our origin and destiny, the earth is our fate. Sputnik has finally landed, in the heart and souls of our eleven-time-zones-wide, beautiful but misfortuned Russian Federation!

Atem zu Atem
LYRIK
Frau Merkel, mehr Licht!
Frau Merkel, mehr Licht!
Ganz ehrlich! Kein Irrlicht!
Sonns gibt es Nichts
Macht ihr nur ein’n Plan
Sei nur ein grosses Licht
Macht ihr nur ein zweiten Plan
Gehen tuh’n sie beide nicht
Denn fuer dieses Leben
Ist der Mensch nicht schlau genug
Doch sein hoeheres Streben
Ist ein schoener Zug
Was sie sind, und wer sie wahren
Werden wir ab jetzt
In allen Namen bewahren
(Stolpere nicht! Hihi)
Hitler war fuer nichts
Merkel brach das Licht
Atem zu Atem
Atem zu Atem
Namen est Amen
Test-Amen-T
Luft muesst’ man sein
Duft muesst’ man sein
Licht darft’ man sein
Ich muss mann sein
Du wirst Frau sein
Du wirst froh sein
Du wirst frei sein
Oder nicht
Kluck und Mutig
Moralisch empfindlich
Frau Merkel, sie sind jetzt
Aller Pflicht enthoben
Treten sie jetzt ruhig zurueck
Nach oben
Merkel ist Aus
Kehren sie jetzt
Zurueck nach Haus
Haut
Das innere Haus
Heim ins Licht

LYRICS
You know, there is no illusion
That we still want to go on
That we want to
Believe
That one day
We can be
Free
That life is worthy
That we did amend
We can instead
Demand more than
Yes we can!
Than we can
All the rest remains
Just futile and ideal
Something that blows up
In the air
Like a little seed
A little seed
Of Hope
Perhaps
Only seldom she is foud
And always she is lost
In brightness
The place of individuals
Remains their solitude
Solaris Solitaris
On est seul
Quand meme pas
But we aren’t alone
Quand-meme
Pas
No More Chains
It is a desire
And also a song of sadness
NAREKADZI
Why?
Is it original sin?
Is it the skin we were born in?
What is it
That makes this
Longing tick
On and on
And
On
Can we break the chain?
Can we remember what we
Forgot?
